Besides defeating Harris, Trump exposed the Mainstream Media

It didn’t work out. The excess of woke-ism did not bring the results that the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate Kamala Harris expected. The American electorate once again chose the candidate that promised them to Make America Great Again. Donald Trump (78) wrote history by winning the 2024 presidential elections by a landslide and defeating not only Harris but also exposing the agenda of the global left mainstream media that did everything in its power to downplay the changes of Trump. Can they ever be trusted again, if ever?

Lefties around the globe lost it after hearing the news that Trump secured a second term in office. Most analysts and commentators tried hard to hide their disappointment and sadness on the same programs that, for weeks, were already celebrating a Harris victory. Too bad, indeed.

"A magnificent victory for the American people," Trump told supporters at a victory celebration in Florida early Wednesday morning. During the 25-minute speech, he said the campaign "overcame obstacles that nobody thought possible," alluding to two assassination attempts while campaigning during the summer.

Harris left her supporters, who had gathered massively for a victory rally at Howard University in Washington, D.C., in the dark. Supporters flocked to the campus of the historically Black college where Harris was an undergraduate but were told to go home by the university’s president.

Soon after, quotes from concerned people on the street, wondering what terrible things would happen to the world now, flooded in from all over the nation and the rest of the ‘civilised’ world over the TV screens. As if people collectively suffer amnesia and do not remember the world's shape four years ago when Joe Biden and Harris took over from Trump, the inconvenient truth about all his accomplishments has long been forgotten.

The mainstream media took care of that.

What is emerging very clearly from these results is that the establishment of classic mainstream media has been defeated along with Harris. CNN, ABC, NBC, BBC, and all the “prestigious” newspapers on both sides of the Atlantic, making a compact block in favour of the Kamala side and shouting for months how the right choice was only one, have been severely crushed in these elections.

They have finally proven once and for all that they have become irrelevant. It has become media for older adults and is irrelevant in modern times. This is not new, as recent studies have shown that people’s distrust of classic media (mainly TV networks and established newspapers) is increasing at a record rate. In short, almost nobody trusts the mainstream official narrative anymore.

People, especially young people, are searching for the truth elsewhere. They are on alternative online media like blogs, vlogs, podcasts, social media, and independent online voices such as—yes, you guessed it right—your very own The Liberum, as was illustrated on election day.

To name one, the podcaster Joe Rogan has been such a fervent supporter that Trump welcomed him on stage during his first celebration speech after the election.  At the exact moment, Harris’s supporters were told to go home.

But who comes out as the real winner of this election, from this point of view? Elon Musk. Many are convinced that Musk's buying and giving a new direction to X (previously known as Twitter) has been a decisive push for the outcome of these elections.

The tycoon unapologetically endorsed Trump at a crucial moment of the campaign, initially on social media and later in real life, appearing close to the candidate in essential rallies. Rumour is that Musk's action must have contributed to the victory in the pivotal State of Pennsylvania.

In one tweet today, Elon Musk wrote a powerful and clear statement addressing his readers: “You are the media now”. With that, he hit the nail on the head.

There are two good reasons to welcome the result of this American election. For one, the world will be a better place under Trump's reign, and we hope he will have a strong hand in stopping the senseless wars around the globe rather than igniting them.

And for a second, as advocates of free and independent thinking, we welcome the end of the era of mainstream media's manipulative and totalitarian dictatorship. Let’s toast together today to a brighter and more accessible future.

We at The Liberum are indeed doing it!
