Uzbek elections coming soon

After the verification of voters' signatures on October 15, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Uzbekistan issued permits to all five political parties to participate in the December elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.

The expert group, which included members of the CEC, letter experts from the Ministries of Interior and Justice and representatives of civil society institutions, verified the correctness of filling out the signature sheets on October 11-14 and gave a positive conclusion. In the process were present the authorized representatives of the parties.

At a meeting of the CEC on Tuesday, the estimates were also approved for the preparation and conduct of elections to the Legislative Chamber, provincial, district and city councils of people's deputies.

10.832 million soums will be allocated for each candidate for elections to the Legislative Chamber, 2 million soums for candidates for provincial councils of people’s deputies and Tashkent city, 1 million soums for candidates for district and city councils of people's deputies.

According to the Electoral Code, parties must publish report of financing in elections on their official websites and in print media within a month after the publication of election results.
