Tayseer Khaled: The US should realize that its role in sponsoring Palestinian-Israeli negotiations is over

Tayseer Khaled,  member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), member of the Political Bureau of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), condemned the US administration's threats to United Nations to remove it from any role in the peace negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians , if its the General Assembly do not condemn Islamic Resistance (Hamas) and other Palestinian resistance organizations such as the Islamic Jihad in the vote to be held next Thursday , and stressed that these threats reflect a huge amount of colonial arrogance and political extortion of the countries , who  supports the right of the Palestinian people to resist occupation and do not see this as an act of terrorism, as is the case of American  blindly biased to the aggressive policy and the policy of apartheid racism practiced by the State of Israel against the Palestinian people .

This came against the backdrop of threats by the US administration that UN would have no role in the peace negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis if the General Assembly did not adopt a US draft resolution condemning Hamas along with other armed groups .  We will ask each country to vote for or against the activities of Hamas, along with other armed groups such as the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and stressed in its statement that if the United Nations can not adopt this resolution then it will have no role in the peace negotiations.

Khaled stressed that the threats posed by the US administration are both empty and flawed and constitute a violation of the sovereignty of the UN member states. He stressed that instead of threatening the United Nations to exclude from any possible Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, Washington must realize that its role in sponsoring Palestinian- Israeli negotiations has ended , because of its hostile position to the rights and interests of the Palestinian people and the anomalous positions against  international law and the resolutions of international legitimacy, such as the position to  the occupied East Jerusalem , the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Refugees and the Palestinian refugee issue and  the  position of the Jewish settlement in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, and the blind bias for Israel's violations of the rights of Palestinian citizens under occupation.
