After the fall last year of World Economic Forum (WEF) messiah, Klaus Schwab, the shine has worn off from the annual globalist ritual in Davos, Switzerland. U.S. President Donald Trump has taken centre stage on the international podium and launched a new Trump world order. After announcing the withdrawal from 66 global organisations (including 31 United Nations (UN) entities) and launching his "Board of Peace", Trump held up a mirror to his European counterparts and warned them that their self-imposed Green Deal and uncontrolled mass immigration would lead to self-destruction. A painful reality that fell on deaf ears in Europe.

For those unaware of the annual Davos forum, this is the place where, since 1971, a clique of international politicians and billionaire power brokers arrive in their private jets to determine the fate of the ‘normal’ working people. That could all end soon. Trump made it clear that he has had enough of the lax attitude of European Union (EU) leaders, signalling a decisive shift in global influence.
The American President hosted a signing ceremony for his new Peace Board on the sidelines of the WEF, calling it a "very exciting day" and saying the collective would become one of the "most consequential bodies" ever created. Trump was flanked on stage in Davos by more than a dozen leaders whose countries directly agreed to sign.
Trump: “As everyone can see today, the first steps toward a brighter day for the Middle East and a much safer future for the world are unfolding right before your very eyes. Together we are in a position to have an incredible opportunity to end decades of suffering, stop generations of hatred and bloodshed and forge a beautiful, everlasting, and glorious peace for that region."
More than two dozen countries, including Russia, have so far accepted his invitation to join the board, except for the U.S.'s major European allies, which have yet to commit. Some are less enthusiastic about the idea, but will probably follow quickly, like faithful lap dogs, with unelected EU President Ursula von der Leyen leading the way.
The Board of Peace most probably signals the end of the UN as we knew it. It is intended to oversee global conflict resolution and post-war reconstruction (Gaza and Ukraine) to replace a corrupt, non-functioning, outdated UN that is facing a severe, multi-front crisis in 2026, with warnings of potential financial bankruptcy and functional "obsolescence" due to significant funding cuts, particularly from the U.S., and an inability to resolve global conflicts.
The Trump circus landed in Davos with a delegation of roughly 300 officials, all with one mission: to raise a strong counter voice to the obsessive globalist green agenda that has been rolled out over the EU, and the social and demographic dangers of their open-border policies, where weekly tens of thousands of illegal migrants are being granted asylum. Fortune seekers who are nothing but a burden to society: pampered upon arrival with free housing, medical (including dental) and meals: all at the expense of the EU taxpayer, exposing the failure of globalist policies.
Trump slapped them in the face with blunt rhetoric, not what Davos participants are used to. “The more windmills, the worse the country is doing. I have not been able to find any windfarms in China. They make them and sell them for a fortune. They sell them to the stupid people who buy them,” said Trump.
Greenland
The U.S. position on Greenland was another somewhat painful point on the agenda. Trump has set his sights on the world's largest island, framing the pursuit as an 'absolute necessity' for national security, marking a clear departure from previous U.S. policies and signalling a shift toward strategic control of Arctic resources.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte played an unexpected role. The former Dutch prime minister would not be himself if he did not change his position on Trump's Greenland ambitions and did a 180-degree turn in a matter of weeks.
Rutte has brought the Netherlands to the brink of the abyss in his record 14-year premiership. Under his leadership, the Dutch welfare state was gutted, and the doors were opened to undocumented immigrants. The result is a nearly irreversible demographic time bomb.
Regarding his international ambitions, Rutte profiled himself as a useful idiot on the global stage in his new role as NATO chief from day 1. As a reward for his slime and incompetence, he was suddenly promoted by the worldwide mainstream media as a Trump whisperer, due to his so-called unique ability to de-escalate tensions and secure diplomatic wins with Trump.
As if Rutte’s mediation skills were the reason Trump announced in Davos not to use force to acquire Greenland. Trump: “People thought I would use force, but I won’t.” The real reason the Greenland dispute fizzled out, for now, is that several EU countries, including Germany, initiated a hasty recall of troops from Greenland following threats of new U.S. tariffs aimed at nations supporting Danish sovereignty over the territory.
If last week's Davos forum proved anything, it is that Trump is breaking the old global order and doing things his way. A Trump world order toward a new system defined by raw power, transactional diplomacy, and sovereign unilateralism. A new status quo that many EU leaders still have to get used to.
