British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has banned Flemish MP Filip Dewinter from entering the UK and attending Tommy Robinson’s Unite the West rally

The British government of Keir Starmer revoked Filip Dewinter’s Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) yesterday, meaning Dewinter can no longer enter the United Kingdom. In an ‘ETA-cancellation’ email, the government stated that ‘his presence in the UK is not considered to be conducive to the public good’. A decision that cannot be appealed. Journalist and activist Tommy Robinson invited Dewinter to participate in the "Unite the Kingdom, Unite the West" manifestation, which takes place in London this Saturday.

Many hundreds of thousands of demonstrators are expected to participate in this anti-immigration and ‘stop-Islamisation’ protest on Saturday, where, among other things, the resignation of Starmer will be demanded.

For years, Robinson has been a thorn in the eye of the (political) establishment that uses the judiciary as a tool to silence him and his followers. He has been summoned to appear in court countless times. Despite all this, he remains focused on exposing the truth. For example, by making documentaries that leave nothing to the imagination:

Robinson: “People feel unsafe. As long as we keep importing third-world nations with different values, matters will only continue to escalate. Just look at the statistics. In the UK, 90 per cent of child rape convictions involve Muslim men from a six per cent Muslim population. In Paris, 77 per cent of rapes are committed by migrants. We must put an end to the fiction that migrants are “cultural enrichment.”

On September 13 (2025), Robinson became world famous by organising his "Unite the Kingdom" rally. It brought hundreds of thousands of people to London and is described as one of the largest far-right gatherings in decades.  Dewinter, who is a close friend of Robinson, also gave act de presence as a guest speaker.

Dewinter: “Instead of applying for an ETA, I should have sailed from the Belgian coast to Dover in a small inflatable boat, torn up my passport, and applied for political asylum. Then I would certainly have been welcomed with open arms by Starmer!”

Starmer stated in a speech on Monday that “this march is designed to confront an intimidating, this diverse city and this diverse country”. He added: “That is why this Labour government will block far-right agitators from travelling to Britain for that event because we will not allow people to come to the UK to threaten our communities and spread hate on our streets.”

Vlaams Belang chairman Tom Van Grieken is furious about the British government's decision. Van Grieken: “Refusing entry to a Member of Parliament from a friendly country with the sole intention of silencing him is unworthy of a democracy.”

He added, “Freedom of speech is jeopardised when certain opinions can no longer be expressed. Under the guise of ‘hate speech, every form of criticism of immigration policy and Islam is made impossible. In this way, democracy becomes a dictatorship of political correctness.”

In a letter to the British ambassador, Van Grieken has therefore expressed his dissatisfaction and urged the ambassador to explain. Questions regarding this matter will also be put to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Federal Parliament this coming Thursday, with the explicit request to summon the British ambassador.

Dewinter: “My presence in the UK is not considered to be conducive to the public good. I was invited by my good friend Tommy Robinson to speak once again at the ‘Unite The West’ March this Saturday. Starmer and his socialist friends made this impossible, stamping me, and I quote, ‘a far right agitator’. Freedom of Speech is dead in the UK.”

As a Member of Parliament, Dewinter represents more than 1 million Flemish citizens. Over 23 per cent of Belgium's inhabitants voted for his party, Vlaams Belang.

Dewinter: “It seems that anyone who opposes mass immigration and Islamisation is boycotted and muzzled. Starmer’s socialist, or should I say, communist, government wants to ban so-called ‘far right agitators.’ Let me be clear, he does not banish the far-right agitators - he banishes anyone who disagrees with him. Free speech in a socialist country means state-approved speech only.”

By saying that, Dewinter hits the nail on the head. Starmer, who suffered unprecedented election losses over the weekend with his Labour Party to Nigel Farage’s Reform UK, refuses to step down. Instead, Starmer acts like a cornered cat. His latest twist is seen as outright censorship and is unworthy of a democracy.

Dewinter: “I can’t even appeal against this decision, although I’ve not been convicted of any crime. There is no room for debate on the issue, even though I’m a citizen of the European Union and a Member of Parliament. My only crime is that I oppose multiculturalism and the open border policy of Starmer & Co.”

According to Dewinter, there is only one possible answer to the state repression of the Left: resistance. He calls on the citizens of the UK to take it to the streets of London this Saturday: “Show your dissatisfaction and anger, but in a peaceful way. Send Starmer home, send the illegal immigrants and criminals home, take your country back and make England and Europe Great Again!”
