Flemish MP Filip Dewinter, after being attacked: “Migrant rebellion, a rise in antisemitism and physical attacks are the new normal in Europe”

Turbulent times in Europe. While France is burning, in Amsterdam, supporters of Hamas, alongside the (radical) left, are chanting antisemitic slogans in front of the national monument on Dam Square. Meanwhile, in Antwerp, an angry Moroccan mob attacked one of The Liberum’s most senior contributors, Filip Dewinter, at city hall, where he has worked for over 40 years. “This is all part of the new normal in Europe.”

A direct flight from Beirut to Amsterdam on the weekend of October 9th, and straight into the thick of it. Dam Square is cordoned off by police to facilitate a demonstration of the (far) left and Islamists. Slogans like "Allahu Akbar", "Free Palestine", and “From the River to the Sea…” are chanted by the angry demonstrators. In front of our National Monument, a symbol of national unity and reflection commemorating the casualties and victims of World War II, the crowd pauses and turns the volume up even louder.

A shameful spectacle.

That same weekend, the situation in France escalated further. Across the country, historic churches and other landmarks go up in flames, while not a single mosque is harmed. Supermarkets are looted, yet the shelves containing pork remain untouched. If you believe the trusted mainstream media outlets, it must all be a coincidence.

But it is not.

Those media falsely claim or insinuate that the current events in Europe are driven by local students, trade unions, and anti-austerity activists. We all saw the images; the global fake-news engine was exposed again. Events are driven by the radical left who joined hands with Islamic groups and immigrants who are (and have in the past years) massively invading Western European countries.

Law and order is collapsing, with the complicity of our unelected European Union (EU) leaders. Not to mention the ‘elected’ useful idiots prime ministers like Emmanuel Macron, Friedrich Merz, Rob Jetten, and former Dutch PM and current NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. All coming to power on false promises, tasked with rolling out a globalist agenda across the EU.

For years, numerous individuals have warned about scenarios like the one unfolding before our eyes. All framed by those same media as right-wing extremists or racists. The latest clear warning came from US President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance during their visits to Europe. To no surprise, they were mocked by the leftist elite and torn apart in the newspapers and programs that serve them.

This uncontrolled migration to Europe and its consequences are exactly what Filip Dewinter has been trying to put on the agenda for almost four decades. He co-founded Vlaams Belang. A party that did not shy away from putting the finger on the sore spot of society when it comes to mass migration and the social and cultural problems that go with it. They were ridiculed from day one and set aside as extreme right.

His party’s famous slogan ‘Eigen volk eerst’ (putting your own people first) is a thorn in the eye of the (radical) left. For them, national culture and preserving Flemish national identity top the agenda. So are the immense demographic challenges that come with it.

“To speak out on what is happening right now is not racism or Islamophobia, but rather realism and the use of common sense. “Non-European, North African, Muslim foreigners are becoming increasingly assertive. and, consequently, more aggressive. They are taking over most of our cities,” Dewinter said from a cosy Italian restaurant in Antwerp.

The attack on Dewinter
On Friday, October 9, Dewinter was (physically) attacked by an angry Moroccan mob who were ‘celebrating’ a wedding at the city hall of Antwerp. “I am not unique; many people experience this sort of aggression: on public transport, on the street, or at their football club, you name it. The aggression that characterises these types of people has become the new normal.”

He added: “The mere fact that someone dares to contradict them is enough to trigger violence. They grow increasingly assertive as their numbers rise and their group becomes more dominant. They are initially modest, perhaps even submissive, and are willing to adapt and integrate. But that only lasts for a short while. Eventually, when the minority becomes the majority, it makes clear who is in charge. This is population replacement in a nutshell.”

Dewinter hits the nail on the head. Western Europe has transformed into a world upside down wherein a law-abiding citizen is being confronted by angry mobs of migrants who are chanting intimidating and anti-Semitic slogans, disrupting civil peace, harassing people and destroying public and private property. From Amsterdam to Paris and beyond, with no exception.

Coincidentally, the Liberum guest contributor Anke Van dermeersch arrived at Antwerp’s city hall at the exact moment the Moroccan mob attacked Dewinter (who entered alone). The Belgian Senator and Flemish Parliament member for the Vlaams Belang was there to sign a condolence register.

“Filip and I arrived separately; in the distance, I saw a large group of people making a lot of noise with drums. At first, I assumed it was a group of left-wing socialists celebrating something, so I gave them a wide berth,” Van dermeersch said.

“Once I entered through the side door and stepped into the main hall, I saw many women wearing headscarves, a bride being tossed into the air, and the sound of drums; it turned out to be a Moroccan wedding. Suddenly, I spotted Filip; he was being hassled as he tried to push his way through the crowd. I grabbed my phone and started filming,” she added.

Filip Dewinter about that moment: “I have been a municipal council member for forty years. My colleagues were waiting for me inside. As soon as I walked through that group, I felt the tension. I was instantly called a racist and other such things, and before I knew it, it turned into physical aggression.”

“I was grabbed by the collar. There were screaming women, and three or four men tried to assault me physically. It all happened very quickly. And before you know it, you’ve been struck in the face,” Dewinter added.

Van dermeersch: “As soon as I started filming, I was attacked to prevent me from filming. I saw my phone flying through the air. A Moroccan woman tried to take it from me; I fended her off with my other hand. Shortly after, another man tried to do the same. I just managed to capture footage of Filip being surrounded. There was no security present. I stopped filming and called 112; it took nearly two minutes before my call was answered. A few minutes later, the rapid response team arrived.”

World upside-down
Dewinter: “Hours later, they apprehended the guy who threw the punch. Police started an investigation. Most likely, they'll file it away, and it won't lead to any consequences. In other words, you can attack an MP without any consequences.”

He emphasised that it happens to many people on the streets every day. Dewinter: “When it happens to me, it draws a lot of attention. The mainstream media immediately twists these situations, as if I were the aggressor who provoked it. As a veteran council member, I shouldn’t have entered through the front entrance; I should have used the side entrance. It’s a completely upside-down world.”

That feeling Dewinter describes is something many in Western Europe recognise: they do not feel at home in their own towns and cities. A rapidly growing migrant population enforces its culture and expects native residents to applaud its presence, be submissive, and adapt to it. If you dare to refuse, then you are stamped as an extreme right or racist.

This phenomenon is visible at every level of society; for example, public schools separate boys and girls into separate physical education classes; Christmas celebrations are being abolished and renamed "winter festivals"; and halal food on supermarket shelves has become the norm.

Everyone accepts it because they fear the consequences.

Dewinter: “In the multicultural society we’ve ended up in, everything is relativised to the point of destruction; the media is afraid to take a side. It’s considered inappropriate, so everything gets downplayed and framed within that multicultural context: they have faced discrimination and had fewer opportunities. Therefore, we’re expected to understand that, and so on. The aggressor is presented as the victim.”

The irony of the current situation is that those migrants left their failed (North) African and Middle Eastern countries behind. They were given rights they have never experienced before. Yet, upon arrival, they reject Western society and try to recreate their failed state. Supported by well-oiled globalist activists, integrated into all strata of our population

Paris, the Beirut of Europe
Beirut, Lebanon's capital, earned the title "Paris of the Middle East" during its mid-20th-century golden age (1955–1975) for its French architectural influence, cosmopolitan culture, and vibrant intellectual and social scene. Grapes turned sour with the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War (1975-1990).

Ironically, with uncontrolled mass migration and a steady increase in daily violence, Paris has transformed into the Beirut of Europe.

Dewinter: “We are slowly but surely heading towards a clash of civilisations; I am warning that this could eventually lead to a (European) civil war. We are not far from that point. Anyone who has seen the footage in Brussels, Liège, Amsterdam, and Paris knows exactly what time it is. It is inevitable.”

Things are escalating further in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Girls are being raped, harassed, and murdered every week. The list of examples is endless. The mainstream media refuses to report on it accurately, and pretends everything is fine.

How do we turn the tide?

Dewinter: “It can be turned around, but first you must have the courage to make the right analysis. And that means realising that "multicultural" implies "multi-conflict." A multicultural society is a multi-conflict society; cultures that stand in such stark opposition to one another, that are so fundamentally incompatible, can never coexist in harmony. It will always lead to conflict.”

It sure looks like that is precisely what the far-left wants. The idea is that only conflict can bring about a new society. Dewinter: “This is classic Marxism-Leninism, pure and simple. Everything we are seeing now is already described in the textbooks, and some strange alliances have formed, like Islamo-socialism. It’s completely unnatural, but that’s what we’re dealing with.”

“The common agenda is to destabilise society, with each group pursuing its own goal. The far-left seeks to subjugate the system. Radical Islam’s approach is: if we destabilise Europe, we can take it over through the power of sheer numbers. Then there are the criminal organisations that exploit the chaos to plunder, while the drug cartels create no-go zones.”

“I advocate for controlled intimidation. Yes, that means deploying the military to show who’s in charge. You have to restore order on the streets, and it needs to be clear once again who is in charge. If this doesn't happen, it will become an all-out civil war in Europe.”
