Control your Life

Control your life before you get burned, and it is too late. I have read and heard this statement so many times. I have realised that one will not feel its weight unless one wakes up one day in the emergency room. Then, it will be too late to recover, and your organisation will replace you.

To get things on track, I have three main tips to share with you from my experiences:

1. Rest is Essential
Rest helps your body and mind recover, and good sleep improves decision-making. If you think resting is a waste of productive work, you are on the wrong side. On the contrary, good rest and good sleep will re-energize you and enhance your decision-making.

Many people are proud of working excessively without taking any leave or days off. This is a silent bomb ticking inside them, and they will face high stress as they continue working and dealing with their colleagues and clients.

Recharge before you get there, and take short breaks, not necessarily long vacations, to keep you energetic and connected to your work activities.

2. Write to Clear Your Mind
Writing helps organise your thoughts and gain clarity. I apply it myself every month or so to clear my mind of ideas and gain wisdom as I compile and organise them. Perhaps the most important thing about writing is that I can hear my inner voice.

Writing has helped me realise what kind of career I want and even what friendships are the most important to me. If you are reading this and wondering if writing as meditation might be helpful to you, I encourage you to try it and find the freedom in your words.

3. Mindset Matters
A positive mindset boosts confidence and motivation—the most important things. Having a positive attitude will make you feel better and help you overcome challenges and stressful situations during the day.

The power of positive thinking cannot be underestimated. By focusing on positive thoughts, we can transform our lives. Positive thinking can improve our mental health, increase our resilience, boost our confidence, improve our relationships, and attract abundance into our lives. Practising positive thinking daily can create a more inspiring and happy life for ourselves.

You must start focusing on the good in your life, expressing gratitude for what you have, and visualising your success. Your positive attitude can transform your life.

As we return to working from the office regularly, with some form of the hybrid word, we need to control our lives and take regular breaks to keep ourselves healthy, energetic, and positive. By showing up daily, we may be ticking the clock in and out, but we are not present efficiently, and our energy levels will deplete sooner than we could expect.

Control your life
Control of your life involves consistent self-awareness, effective stress management, clear communication, and healthy boundaries. It's also about adopting a proactive approach to life, planning, prioritising, and taking actions aligned with your goals and values. Furthermore, cultivating resilience and a supportive network can aid in navigating challenges and staying in control despite our ups and downs.
