Growth of Uzbekistan’s real GDP makes almost 7% over 9 months

In Uzbekistan, real GDP growth amounted to 6.9% in the first 9 months of 2021.

Compared with the same period last year, industrial production increased by 9%, agriculture - by 4.2%, construction - by 4.5% and investment in fixed capital - by 5%. During this period, personal income in real terms increased by 10.4%.

"Meanwhile, the recovery of economic activity in some sectors of the economy to pre-pandemic levels will take a longer period of time. Domestic and foreign tourism, transportation, car production (down 32.4% y-o-y), and catering have not yet reached 2019 levels. The full recovery of economic processes in these sectors in the future will be a supporting factor for high rates of economic growth," the report says.

Earlier it was reported that the World Bank revised the forecast of Uzbekistan's GDP growth in 2021 and raised it from 4.8% to 6.2%.

Trade of Uzbekistan with Central Asian Countries for September 2021

Changes that occurred in the commodity turnover of Uzbekistan with the countries of Central Asia during September.

The share of Central Asian countries in foreign trade amounted to $4.4 billion, an increase of 15.5%.

According to the results of January-September 2021, the foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan with Kazakhstan amounted to $2 803.4 million. The export volume amounted to $840.3 million. imports amounted to $1 963.1 million.

Foreign trade turnover with Kyrgyzstan amounted to $681.8 million. The export volume amounted to $562.0 million. imports amounted to $119.8 million.

Foreign trade turnover with Turkmenistan amounted to $491.4 million. The export volume amounted to $136.9 million and the volume of imports amounted to $354.5 million.

Foreign trade turnover with Tajikistan amounted to $407.5 million. The export volume amounted to $337.2 million, imports reached $70.3 million.

Uzbekistan exports 1.1 million tons of fruits and vegetables in 9 months

In January-September 2021, Uzbekistan exported 1.1 million tons of fruits and vegetables for $624.9 million, the State Statistics Committee reported.
